Jungle Safari
The gypsy safaris in Gir forest offer an unforgettable experience to visitors to witness the pristine wilderness. The safari gypsies’ roams on the thoughtfully laid down wilderness tracks that give a glimpse of the diverse flora and fauna of Gir forest. It offers a range of scheduled departures that are led by a trained eco-guide. The eco-guides will make your wilderness safari seamless and interpretive. Only a maximum of six visitors (plus one child between 3-12 years) are allowed in each gypsy.
Birding
Gir National Park & Sanctuary is well represented in terms of rich avi-fauna. The riparian vegetation along streams and marshes is particularly rich as natural habitation of bird life. Apart from this, Gir National Park & Sanctuary has a variety of habitats, woodlands, grasslands, high hills, cliffs and ponds, catering to the needs of different bird species both resident and migratory. Around 350 avifaunal species are found here. This includes birds of prey, vultures, cormorants, ducks, kingfishers, herons, egrets, storks, barbets, woodpeckers, flycatchers and many others.

In and around Asiatic Lion Lodge- Sasan Gir other than Gir Jungle Trail & Devalia Safari Park there are many sightseeing points Eg. Cave near Village Haripur, Dam site Madhuvanti, Dam site Kamleshwar, Crocodile Breading Centre, Batheshwar Camp Site, Jamjir Water Fall, Hiraneshwar Temple, Gir Arboretum & Birding Point, Sunset point etc.
Cycling
Explore the bountiful countryside of Sasan Gir region on a charming cycling trail. Our naturalist is happy to accompany you in this paddle adventure to various hamlets, and the buffer zone of the forest. Explore the buffers and the rural settings of Gir. Guest can enjoy leisurely pedalling in and around The Lodge also.
Siddi Tribal Dance
Siddi, also known by the names of Sheedi is one of the tribal communities of Gir & Saurashtra region, while a few of them also live in parts of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. Most Siddis are believed to be the descendants of slaves, sailors, servants and merchants from the Bantu-speaking parts of East Africa. Their dance and music are quite exquisite and called “Dhamal”. Dhamaal is a mix of Sufi and African (mostly East African) musical and dance traditions. It refers particularly to the spiritual practices of the Siddis of Gujarat. Dhamaals are performed in memory of their spiritual leaders. An action-filled dance, the dancers are sometimes seen throwing coconuts in the air which fall on their heads and get broken into bits and pieces. Sometimes dancers even dance barefoot over burning embers.
Village Visit
Enjoy a guided tour or a leisurely walk or bicycle ride by yourself to the local villages. Village visit are an excellent way for our guests to immerse in the local culture and experience Kathiavad or Saurashtra region. A special Visit to Jamboor village (Village of Indigenous African Tribe-Siddi) can also be arranged on special request.
